5Night/6Days – Darjeeling & Gangtok

Day 01 :
Arrival & transfer to Gangtok

You will arrive either at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, where your driver
will meet you for a scenic drive to Gangtok. The journey takes around four and a half to five
hours, offering beautiful views of the Teesta River and surrounding landscapes. Upon reaching
Gangtok, you will check into your hotel and take some time to freshen up. In the evening, you
can stroll along MG Marg, the main pedestrian street bustling with cafes, shops, and local
vendors. This is a great opportunity to try local delicacies such as momos or thukpa. After
enjoying the vibrant atmosphere, you will head back to your hotel to rest for the night.

Day 02 :
Gangtok

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake, which sits at about
12,400 feet above sea level. The lake is famous for its stunning views surrounded by snow-
capped peaks and holds spiritual significance. Nearby, you will visit the Baba Harbhajan Singh
Mandir, a shrine dedicated to a revered Indian soldier. Depending on permits and availability,
you may also visit Nathula Pass, the border between India and China. This visit requires a special
permit that should be arranged in advance. You will return to Gangtok by late afternoon, leaving
time to explore local markets or rest. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Sikkimese dinner at a
local restaurant before retiring for the night.

Day 03 :
Gangtok

Your day begins with a visit to Tashi View Point for panoramic views of Mount Kanchenjunga.
From there, you will explore Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok, two hilltop temples that also offer
beautiful vistas. Next, you will visit Enchey Monastery, known for its serene environment and
exquisite architecture. Midday, you will spend time at the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology,
where you can learn about Tibetan culture and see interesting artifacts. Close by is the Do Drul
Chorten Stupa, an important religious site. In the afternoon, you may visit the Flower Exhibition
Centre and the Banjhakri Waterfalls or take a cable car ride on the Gangtok Ropeway for aerial
views of the city. The rest of the evening is free for shopping or relaxation before you spend your
final night in Gangtok.

Day 04 :
Gangtok to Darjeeling

After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and begin the scenic drive to Darjeeling, which
takes approximately four hours. Along the way, you might stop at Lamahatta Eco Park or Lovers'
Point to enjoy the natural beauty. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, you will check into your hotel and
have time to relax. In the evening, you can take a leisurely walk along Chowrasta Mall Road,
soaking in the colonial charm of the town while browsing shops and cafes.

Day 05 :
Darjeeling

You will start very early, leaving around 4 AM to reach Tiger Hill in time to witness a
breathtaking sunrise over the Kanchenjunga mountain range. On your way back, you will stop at
Batasia Loop, a famous railway loop with a war memorial and beautiful views, and also visit
Ghoom Monastery. After breakfast, you will visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, and the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, which
offer insight into the region’s culture, history, and wildlife. In the afternoon, you will tour a tea
estate such as Happy Valley, learning about the tea-making process and enjoying tastings. If you
wish, you can also take a short heritage ride on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway’s Toy Train,
traveling between Darjeeling and Ghoom. The evening can be spent relaxing at a cafe or tea
lounge on the Mall Road.

Day 06 :
Departure

Following breakfast, you will check out from your hotel and begin your journey back to New
Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra Airport for your onward travel. The drive usually takes
around three to three and a half hours.
